Supporting Cuban skateboarders
The best way to support the cuban skate scene is to take as meny boards out there as you can carry, posting things is almost impossible as every thing disapears in the post. I found you can get away with about 13 boards a few sets of trucks and wheels, before you have to pay extra for the weight, but if that happens just find some one with a small bag and you can put your stuff in the hold together. Obviously try and take new stuff, but any thing will do.
The bulk of the skating in Cuba takes place in the capatle city Havana, which is absoltly sick for skateing, you pritty much don't get busted, nothings capped and theres so much good shit to skate there.
To hook up with skaters the best place is a street called G23 you'll be able to find it on any street map of havana. If you get out there with a load of boards the best person to speak to is Che. He knows who needs the boards the most and will share them out farly. There's no where like cuba for skating because no one can turn pro or get sponcered theres no bull shit, people skate for the love of it.
Its the most welcoming scene you'll ever be a part of, don't delay!
